Wild Bites helps communities invest in healthier futures by giving children and their families practical lifelong food skills, nutrition knowledge, and positive shared experiences around food-all through a flexible delivery model designed to minimize demands on community staff.

Sabrina Bovee, RD is a Registered Dietitian and founder of Wild Bites, bringing nutrition expertise together with a passion for creating engaging, practical learning experiences for children and families.
Through Wild Bites, Sabrina partners with First Nations communities to create food and nutrition experiences that are approachable, interactive and fun. Families cook together, explore food and build practical kitchen skills they can use at home.
At the heart of Wild Bites is connection. Each community brings its own strengths, culture, families and priorities and Wild Bites is designed to make space for those differences.

I’ve always felt drawn to work that makes a meaningful difference in people’s lives. From supporting vulnerable populations in Africa to working in eldercare, my life has been shaped by a deep appreciation for human connection, compassion, and the opportunity to help others thrive.
Over time, I felt increasingly called toward prevention—helping children and families build healthier lives through education, practical skills, and meaningful experiences.
In 2023, I received funding through Impact Canada to explore my innovative ideas for addressing the challenges of Type 2 diabetes. That opportunity opened the door to what would eventually become Wild Bites, bringing together my passion for wellness, creativity, and community.
Along the way, Elders came into my life in unexpected and meaningful ways. Their wisdom, encouragement, and guidance helped shape my journey, deepening my appreciation for traditional knowledge and community-led approaches to wellness.
Today, Wild Bites is an expression of that journey. It’s about more than food or cooking. It’s about creating opportunities for children and their caregivers and grandparents to transfer knowledge, learn together, build confidence, connect, and share joy in the kitchen.
I believe that meaningful change begins with fun and connection, and that even the smallest experiences can inspire healthier habits that last a lifetime and can impact families for generations.
It's been a wildly beautiful journey so far, and I can't wait to meet you and your team and journey together!
